consultation: MS Teams: Wednesday and Thursday, 8:00-9:30.
I am an ecotoxicologist conducting hypothesis-driven laboratory and field investigations, risk assessments, and scholarly evaluations on the levels and toxicity of contemporary pollutants (mainly metals and pesticides) to wildlife and the environment. My current focus is on exposure to and the adverse effects of cadmium, mercury, and lead on birds and mammals. One of my most important projects concerns lead poisoning from ammunition sources among waterfowl. I have already confirmed cases of poisoning among ducks, coots, and swans in Poland, and I continue to study ammunition lead turnover and transfer to the environment. I am also working on broadly defined data analysis using the Microsoft analytical platform, Statistica, and R. Additionally, I collaborate on projects related to human exposure, where I utilize my skills in experimental design, laboratory measurements, and data analysis.
I head the Ecotoxicology Research Team at the University of the National Education Commission. Still, as a scientist, I am also an active academic teacher and teach courses on ecotoxicology, instrumental analysis, and data analysis.
